Intended for the enthusiasts of these artist horses and the men and women of horse who surround them, this book is prefaced by Patrick Teisserenc, chief squire of the Cadre noir, Philippe Karl, equestrian scholar with multiple facets and Hubert Comis, former director of the national school of riding. They thus begin the discovery of these shots offered in pairs, over a period ranging from the 1980s to today, playing on lines and winks.

The professional background of Alain Laurioux is absolutely equestrian. Jockey, cowboy, groom, stage manager of the shows at the Cadre noir, he has observed and preserved precious "photosensitive" moments with the horses and those who care for them, ride them and make them dance.
